大震災や原発事故のような人知を超えた大災害を前に、私にとって私の作品のチカラって？と問い返さざるを得ない気持ちになっていきます。

落ち込んだ日々の中でも、気持ちを高揚させ、勇気や元気を人々にしてくれる暖かい食べ物、暖かい部屋、暖かなお風呂は,きっとつらい体に染み渡る。
そして,うつむいて打ちひしがれていようとも誰の耳にも届けることのできる音楽や語りや笑いを届けてくれる芸能たちもつらい心に染み渡るだろう。

絵のチカラは非力のチカラぽつんと向き合う小さな鏡。
一人になって向き合って、作者の創作の、たったひとりの心の中の、その孤独な模索の中で
たどり着くことができた安らぎをともにできる。
自らが語るものはなにもなく、見る人から問いかけられて初めて絆はつながっていく。
悲しみや苦しみの、それぞれの大きさによってではなく、それぞれにぽつんと向き合ったときに、そこにやさしくいてくれる。
決して無力なんかじゃあない。
そう信じていたい。
